Eric Schaffer

Eric Schaffer is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at the Frank J. Guarini School of Business, Saint Peter’s University. He holds an Ed.D. in Sport Management from the United States Sports Academy, an M.A. in Sports Administration and Coaching from Montclair State University, and a B.S. in Health Studies from Monmouth University. His research focuses on geopolitical dimensions of sports, social media responses to major sporting events, anti-doping policies, intercollegiate athletics governance, sports tourism, and international sport governance frameworks.

Before transitioning to full-time academia, Dr. Schaffer coached track and field at the NCAA Division II and III levels and served as an adjunct faculty member teaching sports management courses in the New York City area. He is a member of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM).
