James Zimmerman, Ed.D., is the Division Chair of Business and Information Technologies and Program Director of Sport Management at the University of Saint Mary. He joined the university in 2007 and brings over 15 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, including serving as an NCAA Division III athletic director. His current roles include faculty athletic representative and membership on the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Executive Council.

Zimmerman specializes in the sociological aspects of sports, focusing on ethical dilemmas and coaching practices applicable to the sports industry. His expertise spans athletic administration, coaching, and sports science.
He has coached high school basketball and football in Kansas, served as assistant athletic director for sports information and assistant men’s basketball coach at Jamestown College, and volunteered as an assistant basketball coach at Montana State University.
