Dr. Eric Rietzschel is an Assistant Professor at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences, Department of Organizational Psychology. His research focuses on creativity, innovation, group processes, and team performance. He holds a PhD from the University of Amsterdam and has been at Groningen since 2005. His work explores topics like creativity beyond idea generation, biases in creative assessments, and sustainable innovation approaches.
Education: Earned his PhD in Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, supervised by Bernard Nijstad and others. His doctoral work examined group and individual creativity.
Research Interests: Explores creativity evaluation frameworks, malevolent innovation dynamics, and sustainable innovation paradigms. Recently emphasized 'subtractive innovation' and challenges in creative performance measurement. Active in interdisciplinary studies linking creativity to organizational behavior and motivation.
