Eric Nulman is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the USC School of Architecture since 2011. He holds a B.Arch from Cal Poly State University and an M.Arch from Harvard GSD. A practicing architect since 1999, he has worked on cultural, institutional, and urban projects. His pedagogy, termed 'Pedagogy at Full Scale,' emphasizes 1:1 material prototypes and was recognized by the 2012 ACSA/AIAS New Faculty Teaching Award. He has published peer-reviewed papers on design education and material effects, including works presented at ACSA conferences in Barcelona and Seoul.
His research expanded to urban-scale projects post-2015, focusing on civic discourse and urban design. Civic roles include serving on the LA Forum Board, Rancho Palos Verdes Planning Commission, and Zoning Sub-Committee. He has taught over 15 courses at USC, including Comprehensive Architectural Design and Materials of Construction. Notable projects include the 'Night Flowers' installation (2010) and 'Furry Glow' material prototype (2015).
Current courses include ARCH 500a Comprehensive Architectural Design and ARCH 202b Architectural Design II. His work bridges academic teaching, professional practice, and civic engagement, emphasizing material innovation and urban sustainability.
