Gabriel Kroiz is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at Morgan State University's School of Architecture and Planning. He joined the university in 2008, initially serving as Program Director and later as Chair. His work advances the school's mission of increasing minority representation in design professions and focusing on Baltimore's redevelopment. Kroiz holds a B.F.A. and B.Arch from Rhode Island School of Design (1991) and a post-professional M.Arch II from the University of Maryland (2003).
His research explores:
- Diversity in architectural education through pedagogical frameworks
- Urban sketching as analytical methodology
- Material innovation in building applications
- Defensible space theories in urban contexts
- Baltimore-focused urban redevelopment strategies
