Eric Ledet

Eric Ledet is a Professor of Practice and Director of the Severino Center at the Lally School of Management, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His research focuses on biomedical engineering, spinal biomechanics, and the development of smart medical devices and implants. He has expertise in sensor technologies for orthopaedic applications, sports injury prevention, and assistive technologies like dynamic wheelchair systems.

His research interests include spinal biomechanics, orthopaedic implant design, and the integration of sensor systems into medical devices. He has contributed to advancements in intervertebral disc regeneration strategies, fracture healing monitoring, and quantitative assessment of sports-related injuries. His work emphasizes translating engineering solutions into clinical practice to improve patient outcomes.

Recent publications highlight innovations in spinal implants, wearable devices for mobility, and sensor-based systems to monitor biomechanical forces in vivo. His ISSLS awards reflect recognition of groundbreaking work in bioengineering and spinal disc regeneration.
