Dr. Eric J. Folkins serves as Clinical Associate Professor and Interim Vice Chair in the Department of Physical Therapy at Saint Joseph’s University, concurrently acting as Chair and Director of Accreditation. He holds advanced degrees including a DHSc in Rehabilitation Sciences from Drexel University, DPT from Western University, MPT from USC, and BS in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota.
His research focuses on clinical education pedagogy, low back pain mechanisms, and efficacy of physical therapy techniques. Notable grants include Saint Joseph’s Teaching Innovation Grant and Thomas Jefferson University’s Dean’s Research Award. He has received awards for research on clinical education and pain assessment.
Dr. Folkins’ professional service includes roles as Academy of Orthopaedic Education Chair, APTA House of Delegates representative, and District Chair. He maintains certifications in orthopedic specialization and clinical teaching.
