Steven M. Liaos

Steven M. Liaos, PT, DPT, DSc., OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the Graduate College of Health Sciences, Hawai'i Pacific University (HPU). He is based in Las Vegas, NV, and contributes to HPU's Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Las Vegas program, combining academic instruction with ongoing clinical practice.

Dr. Liaos specializes in orthopedic and sports physical therapy with a focus on clinical reasoning, pain science education, and the rehabilitation of performing artists. His expertise is reflected in his board certifications as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS), and his status as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT).

His professional leadership includes serving as Chair of the Sports Specialty Council for the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS), Inspector for the Nevada Physical Therapy Board, and Chair of the Nominating Committee for APTA Nevada. He is also actively involved in community service as a board member and Clinical Director for the FUN Fitness program at Special Olympics Nevada.

Dr. Liaos continues to maintain clinical involvement as an on-call physical therapist for shows on the Las Vegas Strip, integrating real-world experience into his academic role.
