Eric Fleury is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government and International Relations at Connecticut College. His research focuses on U.S. national security, terrorism as a form of warfare, and the intersection of moral philosophy with foreign policy strategy.
Education: Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science (2015). Research highlights include his book On Absolute War: Terrorism and the Logic of Armed Conflict (2019), analyzing terrorism as a distinct combat framework, and ongoing work on counterterrorism policy and polarization's impact on U.S. foreign policy debates.
Teaching includes courses on International Politics, U.S. Foreign Policy, Terrorism, Diplomacy, and Grand Strategy. Current projects aim to refine counterterrorism strategies for domestic and 'lone wolf' threats, and to reconcile liberal and realist traditions in foreign policy discourse.
