Eric D. Fornari, MD, is an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Einstein. He serves as Co-Director of the Division of Pediatric Orthopedics and Vice Chair for Faculty Affairs in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, with a focus on clinical research and global outreach. Dr. Fornari specializes in pediatric and adolescent hip disorders, sports medicine, and hip preservation surgery.
His research collaborations include leadership roles in the International Perthes Study Group, International Hip Dysplasia Registry (IHDR), SCFE Longitudinal International Prospective (SLIP) Registry, and PRiSM Hip Research Interest Groups. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has held leadership positions in POSNA, including founding member of PRiSM and chair of the Pediatric Orthopedic Global Outreach Committee.
Dr. Fornari has received multiple awards for his research and teaching, including the Angela Kuo Award (2023) and Orthopedic Surgery Attending of the Year (2017). He actively participates in global health initiatives through Health Volunteers Overseas, Orthopedics Overseas, and Project Perfect World, providing care and training in Malawi and Ecuador.
