Eric Besson is a faculty member at Aix-Marseille University, affiliated with the Organic Molecular Chemistry (OMC) Team. He serves as Educational Manager of Chemistry Lab facilities at Saint Charles campus and Scientific Manager of the SAXS device at the PRATIM platform.
His research focuses on transient radical behavior when attached to nano-structured materials, operating at the intersection of organic chemistry, radical chemistry, materials science, and EPR spectroscopy. He develops novel systems to extend radical lifetimes for studying unexplored physicochemical properties like oxygen-centered radical relaxation dynamics. Applied work spans composite materials development (with CROPS/ICR and IS2M Mulhouse), dynamic nuclear polarization techniques (SACS/ICR collaboration), and oxidative stress diagnostic tools via superoxide radical trapping (SREP/ICR partnership).
Besson maintains active collaborations across multiple research entities including CROPS/ICR, IS2M Mulhouse, SACS/ICR, and SREP/ICR teams. His experimental work centers on Saint Charles campus facilities where he oversees critical instrumentation for materials characterization and chemistry education infrastructure.
