Erdag Göknar is an Associate Professor of Turkish in Duke University's Department of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, with cross-appointments in the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. His scholarship bridges literary and cultural studies, focusing on Turkey's Ottoman legacies in contemporary fiction, historiography, and secularism debates. A celebrated translator, he explores intersections of Turkish literature with global modernity and political discourse.
