Ercan Ertekin serves as a Research Fellow in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. His research focuses on superconducting materials and cryogenic systems with applications in energy and aerospace.
His research interests span Superconductivity, Cryogenics, and Energy Systems, with particular emphasis on high-temperature superconductors for electric propulsion and grid applications. His work integrates experimental validation with computational modeling to address thermal management and efficiency challenges in superconducting devices.
Recent publications demonstrate strong trends in AC loss characterization of HTS coils, flux pump development for cryogenic systems, and fault detection algorithms for superconducting grids. His research bridges fundamental material science with practical engineering applications in aerospace and energy infrastructure.
Professional activities include active participation in the Cryogenic Engineering Conference, International Cryogenic Materials Conference, and membership in the SUPERQUMAP COST Action consortium focused on quantum materials.
