Eran Egozy is a Professor of the Practice in Music Technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he explores the intersection of music, technology, and human interaction. As co-founder and chief scientist of Harmonix Music Systems, he pioneered groundbreaking music video games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, which sold over 35 million units and generated $1 billion in annual sales. His innovative work earned him spots in Time and Fortune accolades, cementing his status as a leading figure in music technology.

Egozy’s research focuses on interactive music systems, music information retrieval, and multimodal musical expression. Recent projects include 12, a chamber music piece enabling audience participation via mobile devices, and Tutti, a mobile-audience performance platform. He is developing ConcertCue, a mobile app for streaming program notes during classical concerts, supported by a Knight Foundation grant.
Clarinet Performance and Mentorship: An accomplished clarinetist, Egozy has performed with the MIT Symphony Orchestra and Boston ensembles like Radius Ensemble and A Far Cry. He mentors startups and serves on boards of Boston-area nonprofits, blending technical entrepreneurship with classical music expertise.
