Enzo Moavero-Milanesi serves as Visiting Professor in the European Legal Studies Department at the College of Europe (Bruges campus) while concurrently holding the position of Director of the School of Law and Professor of EU Law at LUISS University in Rome.
A specialist in antitrust law with extensive institutional experience, Professor Moavero-Milanesi's expertise spans EU legal frameworks, competition policy, and European economic integration. His career uniquely bridges academic scholarship and high-level policy implementation within European institutions.
Professor Moavero-Milanesi held significant governmental positions including Minister for European Affairs in two Italian Governments (2011-2014) and President of Chamber/judge at the General Court of the European Union (2006-2011). His two-decade tenure at the European Commission featured leadership roles such as Director General of the Bureau of European Policy Advisors (2006), Deputy Secretary General (2002-2005), and Director in Antitrust services (2000-2002).
He has authored multiple scholarly articles and three authoritative books on merger regulation, Community law policies, and EU competition law, contributing significantly to legal literature in these fields. Professor Moavero-Milanesi also serves on editorial boards of several prominent Law Reviews.
His advisory roles have included service to the Italian Prime Minister on EU affairs and privatization (1993-1995), Special Advisor to Commissioners on Internal Market (2014), and ongoing advisory work to the First Vice President on Rule of Law and 'Better Regulation' since 2015.
