معرفی
Enrica Riva is an Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Parma, Italy. Her academic career spans over 25 years, where she has taught courses in mechanical design, structural integrity assessment, and finite element methods. She co-founded the academic spin-off TP Engineering srl in 2006 to bridge research collaboration with industry, focusing on mechanical design and innovative materials. Her research emphasizes composite materials, fatigue analysis, and computational modeling.
Education
- Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering, Politecnico di Milano (1995), thesis: "The notch effect on low cycle fatigue"
- Italian State Certification for Engineering profession (1995)
Research Interests
- Mechanics of composite materials: woven laminates, finite element modeling, damage progression via electrical resistance monitoring.
- Fatigue of materials: thermomechanical fatigue in aluminum alloys, defect impact on fatigue strength in castings.
- Integrated design methodologies combining CAD, FEA, and casting simulations for industrial applications.
Recent Publications (2022–2024) focus on composite materials, additive manufacturing, and fatigue analysis, with applications in automotive and biomedical engineering. Key subfields include finite element modeling, damage mechanics, and topology optimization.
Supervision & Grants
- Supervised over 20 thesis projects and 3 Ph.D. theses in Industrial Engineering.
- Coordinated the 36-month multidisciplinary project "HI-MECH FAR" with Ferrari, developing integrated design methodologies for aluminum engine components.
Labs & Teams
- CEO of TP Engineering srl, fostering industry-academia collaboration.
- Member of the Department Council (2002–2006) and Graduate School Scientific Committee (2001–present) at the University of Parma.
