Enit K. Steiner is a Professor (MER 1) in the English Department at the University of Lausanne (UNIL), specializing in 18th-century and Romantic literary studies. She joined UNIL in 2013 after teaching at the Universities of Zurich and Neuchâtel. Her research focuses on cosmopolitan ethos, women’s literature, and environmental themes in Romanticism.
Education includes studies at the University of Zurich and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She has published extensively, including Jane Austen's Civilized Women (2012) and edited volumes on Mary Wollstonecraft and Jane Austen.
Current research integrates works from 1700–1830 to explore utopian cosmopolitanism. She co-developed the module Romanticism, Environment and Location with Lancaster University, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach to environmental humanities.
