Enda McGlynn is a Professor and Deputy Head of School in the School of Physical Sciences at Dublin City University. He holds a B.Sc. (First Class Honors) in Applied Physics (1991) and a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics (1996) from DCU, where he received the Lynam Gold Medal. His academic appointments include Lecturer (1996-2005), Senior Lecturer (2006-2014), and Associate Professor (2014-2017) before becoming Professor in 2017. He has served as Associate Dean for Research (2011-2014), Deputy Head of School (2012-2015), and Head of School (2015-2018).
His research focuses on semiconductor materials, particularly nanostructured metal oxides like ZnO. Current interests include growth mechanisms, structural properties, and light-matter interactions in nanostructures. He is a founder member of the National Centre for Plasma Science and Technology (NCPST).
His publications demonstrate expertise in nanomaterials synthesis, atomic layer deposition, thin films, and optoelectronic applications. Recent articles emphasize vapor-phase infiltration techniques and nanostructured metal oxides.
