Dr Emyr Wile serves as a Lecturer in Law at Swansea University's Hillary Rodham Clinton School of Law within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Fluent in Welsh, he maintains an active role in both undergraduate and postgraduate legal education while conducting socio-legal research focused on medical ethics and consent frameworks.
Wile earned his First-Class LLB from Swansea University before completing his ESRC-funded PhD in 2023 titled 'Informed Consent and Trisomy Screening: Delineating Parent and Professional Interests.' His doctoral work examined legal consent applications in antenatal screening practices, earning him the 2022 Outstanding Contribution to Public Engagement award.
His research spans medical law, bioethics, and tort law with emphasis on clinical negligence and consent mechanisms. Wile has developed NHS educational tools about consent law applications in prenatal care and maintains expertise in both qualitative and quantitative socio-legal methodologies.

Wile received the Outstanding Contribution to Public Engagement award in 2022 for his work translating complex legal concepts into practical healthcare guidance. His sole publication to date demonstrates interdisciplinary engagement between law, medicine, and ethics.
Available for postgraduate supervision, Wile teaches Tort Law (LAA124, LAA300, LAQ224) and Medical Law (LAA220, LAA330) modules in both English and Welsh. His teaching directly informs clinical practice through NHS collaboration on consent protocols.
