Emre Veral serves as a Professor in the Department of Management at Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College (CUNY). His academic career spans over three decades with continuous teaching assignments in Service Operations Management and related courses. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Management from Clemson University, complemented by M.S. and B.S. degrees from the same institution and the University of Missouri respectively.
Dr. Veral's research focuses on healthcare operations, specializing in appointment scheduling systems and service operations management. His work bridges theoretical models with practical healthcare applications, particularly in patient flow optimization and resource allocation. Key contributions include developing decision support systems for outpatient scheduling and analyzing corporate codes of conduct in global supply chains.
His publication portfolio demonstrates consistent output in high-impact journals like Healthcare Management Science, Production and Operations Management, and Decision Sciences. Recent work (2015-2019) centers on operational performance targets in appointment systems, while earlier research (1995-2008) covers due-date setting, revenue management, and forecasting methodologies.
