Dr. Emmy Stigter is a Researcher in the Department of Physical Geography at the Faculty of Geosciences, Utrecht University. Her work focuses on hydrology, glaciology, and snow dynamics in mountainous regions like the Himalayas. She holds a PhD from Utrecht University (2023) and has contributed to over a dozen peer-reviewed publications since 2017. Her research emphasizes climate change impacts on snowmelt, glacier dynamics, and high-altitude water cycles. Key projects include studies on snowpack energy balance, refreezing processes, and numerical weather prediction in Arctic and Himalayan environments. Dr. Stigter collaborates extensively with institutions in Nepal and the Netherlands, contributing to field observations and advanced modeling techniques.
