Emmett Ramstad

Emmett Ramstad is a Lecturer at the University of Minnesota and Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). His work focuses on sculpture and participatory art exploring body maintenance, public space, and reconfigured domestic objects. He holds an MFA in Visual Studies from MCAD (2007).

Research interests include infrastructure of daily life, bodily rituals, and collective care through art. His exhibitions include solo shows at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and Rochester Art Center, with work in collections such as the Minnesota Museum of American Art and Weisman Art Museum. Ramstad has received grants including a Jerome Foundation Fellowship and Leeway Foundation Art and Change grant.

He collaborates with The BodyCartography Project on performances and has curated gallery shows. Current projects include installations like Tall Paths Bodyless, Bodyful, Body and Alone Together.
