Emmanuelle Robert

Emmanuelle Robert is a postdoctoral researcher at Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) specializing in the interdisciplinary analysis of biomedical practices. She holds a DEA (postgraduate diploma) in history, ethics, and philosophy of biomedical sciences and a doctorate in public health sciences, focusing on breastfeeding epidemiology in Wallonia and Brussels through political, historical, religious, and anthropological lenses.

Her current research investigates the overmedicalization of birth and medicalization of children's sleep, combining anthropological, epidemiological, and socio-historical perspectives while emphasizing gender relations and medical paternalism in pathologization processes.
