Christian Dessouroux

Christian Dessouroux serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute for Environmental Management and Land Use Planning (IGEAT) within the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). His academic work centers on geography with specialization in urban studies, examining both historical and contemporary urban dynamics through the lens of spatial analysis and policy development.

His research spans urban history (particularly Brussels' 19th-20th century evolution), public space politics, housing markets, and participatory planning. He employs cartographic analysis to investigate transportation networks, land policies, and residential real estate development, bridging historical context with modern urban challenges. Current work emphasizes creating inclusive frameworks for community engagement in urban development projects.

Dessouroux's collaborative research with Brussels and Austrian partners (Syncity initiative) targets context-sensitive urban development in marginalized neighborhoods.
