معرفی
Emmanuel Pinteaux, MSc, PhD is a Senior Lecturer in the Division of Neuroscience at the University of Manchester, actively contributing to brain injury and stroke research. His work spans multiple prestigious research networks including the Manchester Regenerative Medicine Network, Dementia@Manchester, Lydia Becker Institute, and Christabel Pankhurst Institute. He serves as an editor for Frontiers in Neurology / Stroke through 2031.
His research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of brain injury, particularly examining how the extracellular matrix (ECM) regulates inflammatory responses following central nervous system injury. Key areas include interleukin-1 signaling pathways, neuroinflammation mechanisms, and potential therapeutic approaches for stroke recovery. His work has significant implications for the UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.
Pinteaux has produced 89 research outputs, including articles, reviews, and datasets, with recent high-impact publications in Nature and specialized neuroscience journals. His research demonstrates strong interdisciplinary connections between neuroscience, immunology, and vascular biology, with particular emphasis on translational applications for stroke treatment.
He has supervised 16 research students and secured multiple research grants, including as Principal Investigator for the project 'Mesenchymal Stem Cells Preconditioning as Therapeutic Tool to Promote Recovery from Stroke' (2017-2020). His current work includes two active research projects and collaborations across multiple disciplines.
Pinteaux is affiliated with several major research platforms at Manchester, contributing to the university's strengths in neurodegenerative disease research, regenerative medicine, and women's health through the Christabel Pankhurst Institute.
