Emmanuel Pinteaux

Emmanuel Pinteaux, MSc, PhD is a Senior Lecturer in the Division of Neuroscience at the University of Manchester, actively contributing to brain injury and stroke research. His work spans multiple prestigious research networks including the Manchester Regenerative Medicine Network, Dementia@Manchester, Lydia Becker Institute, and Christabel Pankhurst Institute. He serves as an editor for Frontiers in Neurology / Stroke through 2031.

His research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of brain injury, particularly examining how the extracellular matrix (ECM) regulates inflammatory responses following central nervous system injury. Key areas include interleukin-1 signaling pathways, neuroinflammation mechanisms, and potential therapeutic approaches for stroke recovery.
