Dr Emmanuel Olamijuwon is a Lecturer at the School of Geography and Sustainable Development, University of St Andrews. His research focuses on social inequalities, technology use, population health, and digital demography. He holds a PhD in Public Health from the University of the Witwatersrand (2021) and an MSc in Social Cohesion from the same institution (2017).
His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health, education, and reducing inequalities. He has supervised three PhD students and received the Green Talents in Sustainable Development award (2019). Key research areas include antimicrobial resistance in Sub-Saharan Africa, spousal health behaviors, and computational approaches to health systems analysis.
Recent publications examine antibiotic use patterns, the intersection of social and environmental drivers of infections, and the impact of resource inequality on intimate partner violence. He is PI on the Wellcome Trust-funded DiCAIDS project (2024-2025) exploring digital methods for infectious disease research.
