Prof. Emmanuel Le Divellec is a Professor of Organ and spokesperson for the Department of Church Music and Organ at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. Born in Paris in 1966, he holds an astrophysics degree but transitioned to music, studying organ with notable mentors like Marie-Louise Jaquet-Langlais and Rudolf Lutz. From 2000 to 2011, he led an organ class at Bern University of the Arts and served as organist at the French Church in Bern.
His research focuses on improvisation pedagogy and historical stylistics. He co-founded the Basel Research Group for Improvisation (FBI), contributing to the 2018 'Compendium Improvisation.' As an editor at La Tribune de l'Orgue, he authored over 80 articles on improvisation. Since 2011, he has spearheaded initiatives like the Baroque Thomas Organ installation in Hanover's Neustädter Kirche (2019).
His teaching spans historical improvisation at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and leadership in academic and artistic projects. His work bridges historical performance practices with contemporary pedagogy in organ and church music.
