Dr. Emmanuel Baierlé is a research assistant and lecturer at the University of Lucerne, specializing in continuing education programs such as 'Philosophy and Management,' 'Philosophy and Medicine,' and 'CAS Discourse Competencies for Executives.' He holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Fribourg (2016), where his dissertation focused on the phenomenology of choice under Prof. Martine Nida-Rümelin. His academic career includes roles as a graduate assistant at the University of Fribourg (2009–2014), research assistant in a Swiss National Science Foundation project on action phenomenology (2010–2013), and senior assistant at Fribourg’s Department of Philosophy (2017–2022), researching the philosophy of AI. From 2015–2017, he led the 'Univers Suisse' program at the Swiss Study Foundation to enhance inter-regional cohesion in Switzerland.
His research interests span free will, phenomenology, AI ethics, and applied philosophy in management and medicine. He currently contributes to interdisciplinary education at the intersection of philosophy, leadership, and societal challenges.
