Professor Emma Waring is a Chair of Property and Art Law at York Law School, University of York. She holds advanced degrees including a PhD (Cantab), LLM (Harvard), and multiple MA qualifications. Her research focuses on Art and Heritage Law, Property Law, Land Law, and Ecclesiastical Law, emphasizing boundaries, legal geographies, and constitutional property. She leads the interdisciplinary LLM in Art Law, a collaboration between York Law School and the History of Art Department.

Her current projects include a monograph on sculpture’s hybrid legal status and a study on sacred space repurposing.
