Emma Walker is a Lecturer (Education) in the School of Psychology at Queen's University Belfast. She holds a PhD from Birmingham City University and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her roles include L2 personal tutoring, L3 thesis supervision, and DECAP doctoral second supervision. She coordinates the PSY3100 module on graduate employment and teaches forensic psychology and research methods.
Dr. Walker's research focuses on workplace well-being in high-stress professions like prison officers, alongside pedagogical innovation in higher education. She has published peer-reviewed articles on crisis intervention services, voluntary sector mapping, and veteran welfare policy. Her qualitative research methods emphasize thematic analysis and scoping reviews. Recent work includes evaluating Northern Ireland's veteran support systems and analyzing therapeutic prison officers' work-life balance.
Teaching responsibilities include the Introduction to Methods course (PSY1009) and co-coordinating forensic psychology modules. She has received the School of Psychology ICARE Award (2024) for excellence in teaching and student support.
