Lucy Walker

Lucy Walker is a Lecturer in Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University's Faculty of Health and Education, holding a PhD (2021) and BSc (1st Class) from the same institution. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Her research explores two primary strands: workplace wellbeing factors including break behaviors and garden settings' impact on productivity, and resilient performance in high-stress occupations (military, emergency services). She employs mixed methods approaches including psychophysiological measurements (HRV, EDA, fNIRS).

Walker's publications demonstrate consistent focus on occupational stress management, with recent work examining remote work practices and defense personnel resilience. Her research employs both experimental designs and qualitative analysis to understand behavioral adaptations to stress.

She supervises undergraduate projects, doctoral candidates, and collaborates with organizations including Future Directions CIC and Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.
