Emma Roll is a doctoral tutor at the School of Law, Politics and Sociology at the University of Sussex, where she also pursues her PhD in Criminology. Her research explores potential links between poor attachment styles and radicalisation, with a focus on terrorism and far right extremism, integrating perspectives from gender studies and sexual violence.

Emma’s research interests blend psychology, terrorism, radicalisation, far right extremism, gender studies, and sexual violence. She adopts a multi-disciplinary approach to analyze the psychological underpinnings of human behavior, particularly in radicalisation. Her teaching experience includes conducting seminars and delivering a guest lecture on undergraduate Terrorism modules. Prior professional roles involved work within the criminal justice system and social care settings as a behavior manager.
