Professor Emma Morris is a leading clinician scientist and academic leader at University College London (UCL). She has been appointed Dean of UCL’s Faculty of Medical Sciences, effective August 2025, and currently serves as Director of the Division of Infection and Immunity since 2019. Her clinical expertise spans allogeneic stem cell transplantation, gene therapy, and cellular therapies for cancer and inherited immune deficiencies, with honorary consultant roles at University College London Hospital and Royal Free Hospital.

Morris’s research focuses on T cell immunology, gene therapy, and translational studies for inherited immunodeficiencies. Her work bridges animal models, in vitro immunology, and early-phase clinical trials. She has pioneered advancements in stem cell transplantation for primary immune deficiencies and is a scientific founder of Quell Therapeutics Ltd, developing regulatory T cells for transplant tolerance.
Her recent publications highlight trends in gene therapy for immune disorders, transplantation outcomes, and functional validation of genetic variants. Key collaborations include the Africa Health Research Institute and Wellcome Trust.

Morris leads educational modules for iBSc, MSc, and MRes students at UCL, and serves as module lead for the MBBS Infection & Defence Module. She oversees leadership roles in the NIHR UCLH/UCL Biomedical Research Centre and international multidisciplinary teams for adult PID patient care.
Her research group, based at the UCL Institute of Immunity and Transplantation, includes postdoctoral researchers, clinical fellows, and PhD trainees. She actively supports research commercialization and serves as Patron of Haematology Cancer Care charity.
