Emma McClure serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy within the Faculty of Arts at Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her academic work critically intersects Ethics, Feminism, Critical Race Theory, and Philosophy of Law, with specialized focus on conversational ethics and systemic injustice.
Her research program centers on the ethics of conversation, examining moral responsibility for microaggressions and developing frameworks for trauma recovery and self-reintegration. Dr. McClure earned her PhD from the University of Toronto in 2022 with the dissertation Microaggressions, Blame, and Moral Responsibility, which argues microaggressions remain blameworthy even absent harmful intent or actual injury through a novel model of moral accountability.
