Emma López Bahut

Emma López Bahut is a Professor at the School of Architecture, University of A Coruña (Spain), where she teaches Architectural Design in undergraduate, master, and doctoral programs. She has held visiting positions at Kent State University (USA) and participated in international teaching exchanges through the ERASMUS+ program in Poland, Cyprus, Romania, and Germany.

Her research focuses on the interplay between Space, Art, and Architecture, particularly analyzing the work of sculptor Jorge Oteiza (1948-1960) and its influence on urban design. She also investigates bottom-up processes in architecture across spatial scales from landscape to housing.

Dr. López Bahut has contributed to academic governance through editorial roles as co-editor of BAc Boletín Académico (2014-present) and editorial board member of VLC arquitectura. Research Journal (2016-present). Her book Jorge Oteiza y lo arquitectónico received recognition through nominations for major architectural awards.
