E. (Emma) Lennhammer is a doctoral researcher in human rights studies at Lund University, affiliated with the Department of History under the Faculty of Humanities and Theology. She is also a member of the National Graduate School of Historical Studies and a visiting researcher at the University of Groningen (Chair Group Contemporary History) during 2023–2025.

Emma’s PhD project, Time and Its Subjects in the Human Rights Imaginary, explores the temporal dimensions of human rights obligations, focusing on the implementation of UN core human rights treaties in Sweden (1970s–2020s) and the subjecthood of human rights. Her work intersects law, philosophy, and history, with particular emphasis on economic, social, and cultural rights.
She has presented her research at international events, including case studies on the Sámi people and interdisciplinary dialogues on traveling concepts and double hermeneutics.
