Professor Emma Giles is a Professor of Research at the School of Health & Life Sciences, Department of Life Sciences, Teesside University. She is affiliated with the Centre for Public Health and leads research in public health, mental health, nutrition, health equity, and healthcare access. Her work emphasizes co-production methodologies and peer research to address systemic health disparities. She has supervised 5 students and contributed to over 34 projects, including the Outcome Reporting in Brief Intervention Trials: Alcohol (ORBITAL) core outcome set.
Her research focuses on food insecurity among vulnerable populations, mental health service provision, and cancer screening barriers for individuals with learning disabilities or severe mental illness.
