معرفی
Emma Denby is a Lecturer in Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University within the School of Sciences, Psychology, Arts and Humanities, Computing, Engineering and Sports. Her research centers on the vestibular system's role in cognition and mental well-being, with clinical applications for brain-injured and psychiatric populations.
Her work employs neuromodulation techniques (caloric/galvanic vestibular stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation) and neurophysiological measures (EEG, eye-tracking, EMG) to address conditions including hemi-spatial neglect, depersonalisation derealisation disorder, and traumatic brain injury. She investigates neuroplasticity, attention mechanisms, and egocentric perception through physiological recordings of muscle activity, heart rate, and galvanic skin conductance.
Dr. Denby has secured commissioned research with the Ministry of Defence and Royal Foundation, developing efficacy testing for the 'HeadFIT' mental fitness intervention at the Kings Centre for Military Health Research. Her collaborative work with the University of Kent and NHS demonstrates translational focus from theoretical neuroscience to clinical mental health applications.
