Gandola Martina

Gandola Martina is an Associate Professor in the Department of Brain and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Pavia. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Turin (cum laude) and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Pavia. Her career includes prior roles as a Lecturer at the University of Pavia (2011–2019) and Research Fellow positions at the University of Milan-Bicocca (2006–2011).

Research Interests: Her work focuses on the neural basis of motor awareness, anosognosia for hemiplegia, somatoparaphrenia, and motor imagery. She employs techniques such as VLSM, fMRI, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and caloric vestibular stimulation (CVS). Recent projects include studying prismatic adaptation in healthy subjects, bimanual coordination, and neural bases of motor awareness in brain lesion patients.

Labs/Teams: Expertise in functional neuroimaging and neuromodulation techniques applied to motor awareness deficits in neurological patients.
