Emma Cameron is a Researcher at the Institute for Geosystems and Bioindication within the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences at Technische Universität Braunschweig. Her work focuses on environmental reconstruction in Arctic regions using paleolimnological approaches to study climate change impacts.
Dr. Cameron's research interests include:
- Paleolimnology and sediment core analysis
- Climate change impacts on Arctic freshwater systems
- Hydrocarbon exploration effects on northern environments
- Biogeochemical indicators in environmental reconstruction
Her primary research focuses on the Mackenzie Delta region of the Northwest Territories, Canada, where she reconstructs environmental conditions from the late Holocene to present day using multi-proxy approaches. This work provides critical insights into how industrial activities and climate change interact to affect sensitive Arctic ecosystems.
Dr. Cameron holds a PhD from TU Braunschweig and an MSc from Université Laval, with her professional identity centered on 'unlocking the environmental past of Arctic lakes' as highlighted in her Twitter profile (@CryoEmma).
