Emma Bloodgood is a Researcher in the Department of Geography at Newcastle University's School of Geography, Politics and Sociology. Her doctoral research focuses on 'Women’s work in the memory-spaces of Bosnia and Herzegovina,' examining how Bosnian women combat revisionism and preserve memory in the Post-Dayton context. Supervised by Professor Rachel Pain, Dr. James Riding, and Dr. Catherine Gilbert, her work intersects feminist geographies, trauma studies, and spatial politics. She contributes to the Power Space Politics research cluster, exploring themes of peace advocacy and gendered experiences of conflict.
Her research interests extend to memory-spaces, post-conflict societies, and the role of grassroots activism in shaping historical narratives. She teaches GEO1096 – Geographical Skills and engages in interdisciplinary collaboration within the school's academic community.
