Emma Baillie

Dr. Emma Baillie is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the School of Business, Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, The University of Queensland. A registered community pharmacist with teaching experience for pharmacy and medical students, she concurrently serves as Deputy Chair for the Early-Career Researchers Subcommittee at the Australasian Association for Academic Primary Care (AAAPC), where she spearheaded their inaugural mentorship program.

Her research centers on digital health technologies in primary care delivery, with emphasis on antimicrobial stewardship and clinical decision-making. Employing mixed-methods approaches, she investigates antibiotic prescribing patterns among early-career physicians, telehealth's impact on acute infection management, and implementation barriers for clinical guidelines. Current projects analyze interpractice variability and temporal trends in respiratory infection treatment.

Recent publications (2021-2025) reveal consistent focus on optimizing antibiotic use through technology-enabled interventions. Her work combines systematic reviews of telehealth efficacy with qualitative studies of physician decision-making, highlighting critical gaps in guideline adherence during virtual consultations. Key collaborations include the AAAPC and UQ's Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Baillie actively supervises research students and contributes to academic leadership through AAAPC's mentorship initiatives.
