Emine AHMETOĞLU is a Professor in the Preschool Education Department at Trakya University's Education Faculty since 2017. Her academic background includes a Doctoral degree (2004) and post-doctoral studies (2024) focused on early childhood development. Her research spans early childhood education, inclusive practices, child temperament, autism spectrum disorder interventions, and parental involvement. She has authored/co-authored over 150 publications across international and national journals/conferences, with a focus on developmental psychology, special education, and cross-cultural studies.
Key research areas include social acceptance programs in inclusive settings, cultural influences on child behavior, and effective teaching strategies for children with special needs. She has contributed to validated assessment tools like the Penn Interactive Peer Play Scale (PIPPS) and the Play Assessment for Group Settings (PAGS). Her work bridges theory and practice, emphasizing evidence-based interventions in preschool education.
Recent projects address issues like the impact of screen time on toddlers, playground design for child development, and trauma-informed teaching. She collaborates internationally with researchers in North America and Europe through consortia like the Joint Effort Toddler Temperament Consortium. Her efforts have shaped Turkish educational policies on inclusive practices and early childhood teacher training.
