Dr. Emily Stevenson is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Independent Research Fellow and College Research Associate at Magdalene College, University of Cambridge. She is an EU-INTERACT TA Ambassador and specializes in erosion, weathering, and inorganic carbon fluxes, with a focus on low-temperature isotope geochemistry. Her work incorporates advanced analytical techniques such as MC-ICP-MS, TIMS, and ICP-OES. She has conducted extensive fieldwork in extreme environments, ranging from Arctic regions to tropical areas, and elevations from sea level to 6,000 meters above sea level.
Her research aligns with the Department’s Climate Change and Environment thematic area. Key collaborations include work with Professors Helen M. Williams, Alexander Piotrowski, Alexandra Turchyn, Edward Tipper, and Michael James Bickle. Dr. Stevenson’s research also intersects with glaciology and environmental geochemistry, as reflected in her keynote talks and video presentations on topics like sulfuric acid weathering in the Arctic.
She is affiliated with the Bullard Laboratories within the Department of Earth Sciences and can be contacted at eis22@cam.ac.uk.
