Emily Somoskey is an Assistant Professor of Art at Whitman College, currently on sabbatical during Fall 2025. She is a 2-D mixed media artist and painter whose work explores the interplay between physical and mental spaces through representation and abstraction.

Her research investigates the shifting boundaries of sensate and psychological realms in art, emphasizing complexity, instability, and subjectivity in lived experiences. She has exhibited nationally and regionally at venues such as Site: Brooklyn, Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences, Arc Gallery, and Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum.
Her work has been featured in publications including ctrl+v journal and the Studio Break podcast. She maintains a personal website and is based in Walla Walla, WA.
