Emily Polk is an Advanced Lecturer in Stanford University's Program in Writing and Rhetoric, affiliated with the Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an M.A. in Human Rights from Columbia University.
Polk's research examines community-led climate responses, social movement mobilization, and climate justice narratives. She developed pioneering Stanford courses on Gender and Climate Change, Environmental Justice Storytelling, and Climate Communication.
