معرفی
Emily Peters is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Loyola University Chicago. Her research focuses on Subfactors, planar algebras, and knot theory, complemented by a teaching focus on geometric topics such as polyhedra, decomposition problems, and Archimedean geometry through math circles and summer programs. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley (2009), where she worked under Fields Medalist Vaughan Jones. Prior to Loyola, she held positions at the University of New Hampshire, MIT, and as a Boas Assistant Professor at Northwestern University.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, University of California, Berkeley, 2009
Research Interests: Peters specializes in advanced algebraic structures (Subfactors, planar algebras) and their connections to knot theory. Her pedagogical focus extends to accessible geometric education, including polytopes and classical geometry problems, reflecting a commitment to both cutting-edge research and foundational mathematical outreach.
