Peter Rowley

Peter Rowley is Professor of Pure Mathematics at the University of Manchester's Department of Mathematics, where he leads the Algebra research group. His work focuses on combinatorial and geometric aspects of group theory.

His research examines Coxeter groups, finite simple groups, and their geometric representations. Current investigations address polytope structures in exceptional groups, conjugacy classes in automorphism groups, and combinatorial properties of abstract regular polytopes.

Recent publications analyze rank 5 polytopes in the Mathieu group M24, maximal tori in exceptional Lie groups, and decomposition properties of abstract polytopes. His work bridges combinatorics, geometry, and algebra to reveal structural patterns in mathematical objects.

Rowley contributes to the Digital Futures research beacon and supervises doctoral students in algebraic combinatorics. His research advances understanding of symmetry and structure in discrete mathematics.
