Emily Millane is a Senior Fellow at the Melbourne Law School (University of Melbourne) and Lead of Economic Security and Governance at Impact Economics and Policy. Her expertise lies in superannuation law, regulation, and policy, with over ten years of experience in the field. Previously, she held roles at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Grattan Institute, and the Australian National University's Tax and Transfer Policy Institute. She began her career in tax and commercial law at Maddocks lawyers.
Emily holds a PhD from the Australian National University and degrees in Arts and Law from the University of Melbourne. She is currently writing a book on the politics of Australian superannuation. In 2025, she will teach 'Superannuation Law and Policy' as part of the Melbourne Law Masters program.
Her research focuses on superannuation law reform, economic security, and governance frameworks. Emily has contributed to significant policy initiatives, including ASIC's role in the Morrison Government's 'Your Future, Your Super' reforms.
