Rebecca Dickson is a Senior Fellow at Melbourne Law School, University of Melbourne, teaching in the Construction Law Masters program while pursuing her PhD at Monash University. Her research examines Australian construction law reform and industry regulation, with professional expertise spanning over 10 years as a construction lawyer at firms including Maddocks and MinterEllison, and as in-house counsel for major infrastructure projects like the Port Capacity Project and Melbourne Airport’s Third Runway Program.
She currently serves as Head of Legal at John Beever (Australia), an ACCIONA subsidiary delivering waste-to-energy facilities in Western Australia, and holds directorships with the National Association of Women in Construction, Australian Gender Equality Council, and Port Melbourne Football Club. Previously, she co-chaired the Society of Construction Law Australia’s Young Constructors Committee and established its national mentoring program.
Her research centers on construction law reform, collaborative contracting models, and pandemic impacts on construction law, addressing critical regulatory gaps in infrastructure project delivery. This work bridges academic inquiry with practical industry challenges, emphasizing innovative contractual frameworks for complex construction environments.
